With beautiful Lincoln, Nebraska as its main campus, the Myotherapy Institute, accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology boasts excellence. Offering diversity of education in its Associate of Applied Science Degree in massage therapy this private college prepares each student for success.
The primary massage instructor is unrivaled by any other as she beautifully teaches “the dance” of Swedish massage. It is through this instructor’s incredibly gifted and beautiful soul that not only Swedish massage is taught, but also the importance of loving each client unconditionally. You are quickly grounded in focusing on each client, being only with them and allowing everything hindering you to fall away for a precious hour given solely and respectfully to that person. And not just a client but a living soul, each individual is the most special person at that moment they are receiving massage.
Highlighted in the curriculum is the inclusion of a native Eastern Medicine instructor who directs you toward the beauty and natural benefits of allowing the body to heal itself through the knowledge of the body’s meridians and Eastern Medicine techniques.
Coursework taught throughout the program parallels what is likely to be seen on the National Board Exam, required for licensure to practice. Preparation begins early and continues through with tests prepared in the classroom to be similar to board questions. Myotherapy Institute prepares each student for success. Proof is evident as the student pass rate for the National Exam is among the highest in the nation.
Evidenced while working with clients in the massage and spa setting, the value of pursuing excellence in character is key. Having a beautiful spirit and showing unconditional love toward clients can be an even bigger factor in repeat clients as people are drawn toward you as well as the service you provide. Foregoing service is attitude; attitude is everything.
You begin the course expecting to come away with a common knowledge of massage. You leave with a greater knowledge and understanding of life and the importance of each individual’s uniqueness.

The main goal of every school is how well the education is taught and that the students really learn from it. The Myotherapy Institute offers a useful education and the perfect atmosphere to become a successful massage therapist. The teachers do care and want to see you succeed which is something that is very important.
The classes are fun yet challenging and they prepare you with everything you need to know when going into the massage profession. Classes like Massage & Spa Clinic give the students ways to greet new clients, perform treatments and gain experience in business behind the reception desk. This class is crucial as it gives you a glimpse of your future.
Consider a smaller college like the Myotherapy Institute—it has a lot to offer.

The Myotherapy Institute is great for that person who wants to be completely confident and successful in massage therapy. It’s a school that combines serious learning and fun activities and classes together for the perfect schooling experience. Not only does the school set a major goal of sending the students off with a great deal of professionalism, but the school alone sets the same goal of a professional feel for itself. As soon as you walk into the school, you can definitely feel the professional vibe.
There is a chance to get a lot of hands-on-practice on the actual public. The clinics aren’t there just to help students practice techniques, but are there to help give the students a feel about true professionalism. Also, the school is very clean. It is the perfect atmosphere for both school and massage therapy clinic. The environment is serene and very relaxing. The school just seems to make everyone feel very comfortable.
In order to better teach students, teachers must first know everything about what they are teaching, and it’s obvious that all of the teachers at Myotherapy have studied, learned, and practiced what they are in charge of teaching to their students. It’s also easy to see that all of the teachers enjoy what they’re teaching, which makes it a whole lot easier for a student to pay attention to and learn. All that is taught is in detail until the students completely understand and are able to perform that technique practically perfect. All of the teachers at Myotherapy are both very respectable and respect the students. A teacher that respects students, to me, is priceless. All of the teachers at the school are highly qualified and obviously chosen carefully.
Attending Myotherapy would be one of the best, life-making decisions you’ll ever make.

The administration at the Myotherapy Institute is very well organized. There are many experienced staff persons. The communication between the students and the faculty is very exceptional.
The Director wants to make us the best massage therapists we can be. She likes to meet with students and listens to everyone’s concerns and does everything in her power to help us. She is very understanding and compassionate with each one of us. She wants to get to know us and experience our touch. Frequently, students are surveyed for our opinion. She has established an awesome massage therapy school in Lincoln.
The Myotherapy Institute gives everyone an equal chance to make a great future in the massage therapy field.

The level of education that you get from attending this college is unbelievable.
The school cares about us living up to our full potential in every area. We learn a lot from our instructors while having fun. In massage we work on everything from working posture and balance, to strengthening our bodies and touch training which helps us to work with our hands and be more aware of our sense of touch.
We are evaluated very closely for our own good. We are tested several different ways in each class and as a final exam in massage classes licensed therapists evaluate our work. The Director personally evaluates our work, too.
The school's professional environment and classes help us develop our own great professional habits like being on time and keeping our spaces sanitary.
From our instructors and curriculum to being able to start building our own businesses, the college is highly recognized for the great education a person can get there. I am very confident when saying that Myotherapy Institute is the place to go if you would want to become a massage therapist.

From the beginning to the end of my massage education I have decided that I made the perfect decision to attend the Myotherapy Institute. I knew that I would be getting an education like no other in the United States.
The school Director is well educated and has had incredible work experience and this is reflected in the school. The instructors make you feel so at home, welcome and confident that we know after we graduate, if we wanted to conquer the massage world we could.
Even though the instructors are great, what is greater is the “family” that you gain at school. The students become a support system, too. I have learned a lot from my Myotherapy family. I love being with people who are passionate about the same thing that I am.
One of my favorite classes is Clinic where you work with community clients. You learn how to book appointments, the professional way to handle yourself, your clients and your business while having a licensed massage supervisor helping you the whole way. It is the most wonderful experience to have new people, your clients, love what you do. The best thing is when they rebook with you. This is the exact moment that you know finally that you are a great massage therapist.
I highly recommend the Myotherapy Institute because of curriculum, the great teachers; all of the students that you get to meet, the practical experience and the cost is even affordable. All around, the Myotherapy Institute is a well rounded school and I am glad that I chose it. If I had to do this all over again, I would surely choose it again in a heartbeat.

While you are at the Myotherapy Institute you know that it’s for an education and not a place to waste time. Don’t get me wrong, we all still have a lot of fun. Not only do you spend your day learning from great teachers, but also you form a close bond with your classmates. I attended MI with people from Iowa and Nebraska. Nebraska students came from as far away as the Wyoming, Colorado and Kansas borders. In the same year there were students from the Bahamas and the Soviet Union.
The teachers are also someone you bond with. You learn so much not just from the teaching, but from them as individuals. In massage you have to love what you are doing, and they show us that every day. They push us to do our best, they want us to do our best.
Not only is the school well talked about, but also so is the Director. She has a master’s in education and has been teaching for 25 years. She developed one of the first hot stone massage programs and holds the trademark for Soothing Stone Therapy which is taught at the school. She has served on state and national education and massage boards. It makes a school run smoother if the Director really knows what is going on in the field and can help students fulfill their life dreams. It’s nice to have the Director know your name. It makes you feel special every time she see you.
Only a former student can tell what school is really like at MI. It is a well-round and caring atmosphere for those of us who attend. I know that I will never be able to forget where I went to school, the teachers, and my friends. It was the best decision I could have made.

Myotherapy has amazing teachers and students. Every student is friendly wanting everyone to feel comfortable. It’s easy to make friends as classmates introduce you to their friends and you meet more people every day. Students work side by side and learn from each other, too.
What I really like about this school is that it doesn’t waste any time getting you into the massage setting. Each class has a syllabus so that there is no confusion for the student. The classes are very interesting and hands on.

All of the teachers at the Myotherapy Institute are experts in their fields. There are many teachers who are licensed in massage therapy, nursing, athletic training or who are medical or chiropractic doctors. Other instructors have bachelors or masters or PhD degrees. They are very good at spending extra time with students. They are very fair to all students. When it comes to grading tests and assignments, treatment of students, and time for hands on activities they treat the students equally.
This school will prepare you for the real world. Myotherapy is worth your time and money.
