Our Financial Aid Officer has the experience to assist you in exploring available financial resources and can make the Federal Student Aid application procedure effortless. Financial assistance plans are offered in the form of scholarships, grants and loans and can be used in conjunction with personal financing.

Parents

MI offers the following for those students who qualify:

1. Federal Aid to students

  • Pell Grants: Up to $5550; does not have to be repaid, based on federal "need" formula based on results from FAFSA form.
  • Stafford Subsidized Loans: A low interest loan based on need, government pays interest while student is enrolled "at least half time status" - 6 months grace period before payments start after student graduates, withdraws or becomes a less than half-time student – interest free if paid off within the 6 months grace period; Ten year standard repayment plan - Independent and dependent students: $3,500 first year student plus Stafford Unsubsidized loans.
  • Stafford Unsubsidized Loans: Low interest loan for Independent students, interest accrues while student is in school - same repayment plan as above; Dependent: up to $2,000 for first year students, Independent: up to $6,000 for first year students.
  • FAFSA!

  • Individual employers frequently offer education funds for employees or for retraining of employees.

American Liberty Scholarship

We want you to pursue your dream of obtaining a college degree. Whether you are a first time college student or adult returning to school to get bachelors, masters, PhD or technical certification you may qualify for the American Liberty Scholarship. Finalists are selected every month. $5,000 College scholarship awarded. (More Information)

American Specialty Health Scholarship

ASH offers two scholarships per year of $1,000 to recognize academic excellence and enthusiasm towards students enrolled in massage therapy programs. Students must have at least 100 hours of academic credit prior to submitting an application. (More Information)

Association for Non-Traditional Students in Higher Education (ANTSHE)

ANTSHE awards three $500 scholarships a year to nontraditional students who are enrolled in a degree or certificate program at time of scholarship award for 6 credit hours. Students must have a GPA of 3.25 or higher and have completed at least 15 credit hours. (More Information)

Ben Cummings Allied Health Scholarship

Five student entries will be selected to receive a $1,000 scholarship award, and all entries will be eligible for display on our "Great Ideas!" website. The application provides more information about the scholarship photo contest and application process. Winning contest entries will be chosen for creativity, technical quality, originality, and how well the written description explains the concept as taught in the anatomy & physiology or microbiology course. Scott Mecham BBB Student of Integrity Award

The annual Scott Mecham BBB Student of Integrity Awards program is sponsored by the Foundation of the Better Business Bureau, serving Nebraska, South Dakota and southwest Iowa. $2,000 scholarships will be awarded to three students who reside in the geographic area served by the BBB. These scholarships were established to honor the memory of Mr. Mecham who served as the BBB president from 1991 until January 2006. (More Information)
